23rd October 2008, Exeter
The aim of this conference is to explore the lessons that can be derived from how participation in decision making can be applied to both identifying Marine Protected Area networks and wider issues in the marine environment.
Effective stakeholder participation is seen as a vital part of making good decisions for conservation and sustainable management of the marine environment. But how in reality can this be achieved? This meeting will introduce the broad theories of designing effective processes in which large numbers of stakeholders can be productively involved. We are bringing experiences and case studies from California and Spain to help illustrate how collaborative MPA decisions were reached.
