New Welsh Environment body named Natural Resources Wales
The merger of environmental bodies is being watch with interest as Westminster Government considers whether this model could be used for England. The new body that will replace the Environment Agency Wales, the Countryside Council for Wales and Forestry Commission Wales has been formally named by Environment Minister, John Griffiths. Thursday 25 October 2012. The Minister announced that the new body will be known as Natural Resources Wales or Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru. The Minister said: I believe that this name communicates well the remit of the new body, covering all the roles of the three current bodies, which will help to give confidence and reassurance to the new body’s customers and stakeholders
