Deputy Secretary

The OSPAR Commission is seeking an experienced graduate preferably with a background in natural/ environmental sciences and with approximately 5 years’ work experience to join its small professional Secretariat based at offices in central London.
Applicants should demonstrate knowledge, experience and understanding of:
- environmental policy and its scientific basis, with particular reference to the marine environment
- environmental regulatory processes and their administrative and economic contexts
- practical, legal and institutional aspects of intergovernmental organisations
and ideally specific knowledge of environmental monitoring and assessment (including marine chemistry) and/or the protection of marine biodiversity and ecosystems.
Applicants should possess excellent presentation skills, written English and document drafting capabilities and IT competences in a suite of office applications. Applicants must be nationals of one of the 15 OSPAR Contracting Parties or of any other State which is a Member State of the European Union.
