We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated marine scientist to join the Marine Protected Sites team and lead our work developing monitoring approaches for our expanding network of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The network will include existing and new Offshore SACs as well as new types of national marine protected area designations being proposed in forthcoming legislation. As well as focusing at the site level, it is envisaged that the protected sites component of this monitoring system will also enable the assessment of the site network as a whole. The post-holders work will contribute to a wider programme run by JNCC with the country conservation bodies developing a system of monitoring for biodiversity in the marine environment. Ref 2010/13
