An exciting opportunity has arisen following the formation of the Marine Management Organisation for A Head of Strategic Development

The Decision Support Directorate of the Marine Management Organisation will provide the organisation with an impartial, comprehensive, evidence-based capability to support the integrity and coherence of its marine management activities. We are looking for someone to lead the Strategic Development Team whose role is to facilitate the strategic development of the MMO and enable it to become the national champion of sustainable development in our marine and coastal area. This team will support the MMO by coordinating the activities and analysis needed to provide a clear strategic direction, assist in the identification and development of future capacity and provide a horizon scanning capability for the organisation.

The Head Of Strategic Development will need to develop excellent relationships with stakeholders across the MMO and policy leaders within the UK marine science community.

Suitable candidates will be educated to PhD level within a related marine science discipline or have demonstrable track record in a relevant sector . They should have a clear understanding of the challenges facing sustainable development of the marine environment within both the national and international context.
