The Decision Support Team of the Marine Management Organisation comprises Data & Knowledge Management, Interpretation and Strategy Development. This team will provide and maintain a world-class evidence base for decision-making in the marine area. The Decision support team will be responsible for maintaining key relationships within the UK marine evidence community and positioning MMO as a primary facilitator in the provision of national marine evidence base.

The Data Assurance Officer has responsibility for the assurance of data used by MMO in decision-making, in line with UKSA criteria. The role requires the input into the task of gathering and making available key elements of national marine evidence base and identifying critical gaps. Proactive engagement with existing forums and key stakeholders across academia, government and NGO’s is essential to ensure data sharing agreements.

Suitable candidates will have a broad understanding of IT and data systems in compliance and risk management including the major risks in complex development projects. It is anticipated the candidate will have proven track record in IT management (scheduling & budgeting) and knowledge of implementation & data assurance systems. Strong communication skills are pre requisite.
