Starting Salary - £52,708 per annum

The Decision Support Team of the Marine Management Organisation comprises Data & Knowledge Management, Interpretation and Strategy Development. This team will provide and maintain a world-class evidence base for decision-making in the marine area. The Decision support team will be responsible for maintaining key relationships within the UK marine evidence community and positioning MMO as a primary facilitator in the provision of national marine evidence base.

The Head of Data and Knowledge Management will provide effective data & knowledge management to support MMO and take responsibility for the assurance, management, distribution and publication of the MMO evidence base. The ability to deal with complex technical and scientific issues, both systematically and creatively, and make sound judgment is essential, as is the technical ability to identify and deliver a web enabled GI and IT infrastructure.

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate significant involvement in offshore environmental assessment with an awareness of types of marine data. It is anticipated candidates will be educated to degree level in science or environmental science and have a proven record in continued professional development.
