An exciting opportunity has been created for a Data Officer (Data & Knowledge Management) to join this newly created team within MMO.

The Decision Support Team of the Marine Management Organisation comprises Data & Knowledge Management, Interpretation and Strategy Development. This team will provide and maintain a world-class evidence base for decision-making in the marine area. The Decision support team will be responsible for maintaining key relationships within the UK marine evidence community and positioning MMO as a primary facilitator in the provision of national marine evidence base.

The Data Officer (D & KM) will support the Head of Data & Knowledge Management in delivering the assurance, management, distribution and publication of the MMO evidence base. Additionally this role will support in gathering & making accessible key elements of a national marine evidence base and identify critical gaps.

Suitable candidates will have experience in managing marine data, as a developer, consultant or regulator, be aware of the methods used and the types of marine data. Experience of working in a project team with demonstrable track record of report writing and presentation skills is required. It is anticipated that candidates will be educated to degree level in a science discipline and have a track record of Continual Professional Development.
