Policy and Advice Officer – Aquaculture

Temporary for 2 years with the possibility of extension, Inverness
Starting salary: £23,486
You will prepare and provide aquaculture advice within Coastal and Marine Ecosystems and Use (CMEU). Duties will include providing advice on the impacts of aquaculture on the natural heritage, responding to requests for advice on aquaculture consultations, reviewing Environmental Statements and preparing summaries of the important aspects of each consultation so as to facilitate the response process within SNH, maintenance of the aquacultural information base, contributing to the organisation and delivery of aquaculture training, development of aquaculture advisory, policy and guidance notes, development of aquaculture microsite or web pages and contributing to wider casework as required.
It is essential that you have knowledge of the Scottish aquaculture industry and Scottish marine habitats and species coupled with a BSc in Life Sciences. You will preferably have 1-2 years experience in a similar role. You will have experience of electronic information management and have the ability to produce authoritative summaries of issues from a range of sources.
