MARINE CONSERVATION SOCIETY – TWO VACANCIES
POLLUTION PROGRAMME MANAGER Salary range: £28,000 - £32,000
BEACHWATCH OFFICER Salary range: £20,000 - £24,500
Closing date for both positions: 5pm Friday 10th September
The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) is the UK charity dedicated to the protection of our seas, shores and the wildlife that depends on them. MCS campaigns for clean seas and beaches, sustainable fisheries, protection of marine life and their habitats, and the sensitive use of our marine resources for future generations.
The MCS Clean Seas and Beaches campaign is a UK-wide programme to improve coastal water quality and reduce the levels of litter on Britain’s beaches. MCS raises awareness of the problems through the publication of information, involves people in active environmental projects and campaigns and influences the government and industry bodies to introduce effective measures that will reduce pollution at source. The Good Beach Guide and Beachwatch projects are the public face of the campaigns and play a key role in promoting solutions to the problems.
We seek two exceptional individuals to join the existing pollution team:
The Pollution Programme Manager will be responsible for the overall delivery of the MCS pollution programme objectives, by managing the team, providing specialist knowledge and seeking to maximize all development opportunities.
The Beachwatch Officer will be responsible for delivering the Beachwatch programme, including supporting local volunteer groups and analyzing results from the litter surveys.
