The Role: We are looking for an experienced individual to take up a key role within the consultancy team. The successful candidate will make a full contribution to the delivery of our portfolio of projects and will have particular responsibility for leading on all environmental aspects of the consultancy undertaken, providing advice relating to the consent requirements, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for works in the marine environment and processing marine related consents as required.

In addition to the above key elements the role also requires input to the preparation of proposal documents, fulfilling our commitment to the British Marine Federation to offer a marine consents advice service, advice on emerging environmental legislation, scheme consultation, involvement in stakeholder participation events and the presentation of papers at conferences. The right candidate will be capable of expanding the environmental services offered by Marina Projects Ltd.

The position is primarily based in offices overlooking the entrance of Portsmouth Harbour but the successful candidate will be required to travel in order to fulfil the role.

The Individual We are looking for an individual that is well organised, an excellent communicator and report writer, works well as part of a team and individually, can use their initiative and is capable of representing the company. A background in marine ecology/science is considered essential. Knowledge of the UK marine consent regime, Environmental Impact Assessment and other relevant legislation including the Habitats Regulations would be highly desirable.

Qualifications: Ideally degree qualified in a relevant marine science or environmental discipline.

An interest in marine leisure activities would be useful but is not essential

A valid UK driving licence is required.
