Senior Project Manager on scale £26,500 - £32,600 for exciting 12-month project to develop a Tyne catchment plan. Office in Tyne Valley, working across the whole catchment. Own transport essential.

Tyne Rivers Trust (TRT) is an independent environmental charity (1107358) whose aim is to improve the habitat of the Tyne and its catchment, to ensure a healthy river system for all. TRT has been contracted by Defra to develop and improve stakeholder engagement in this ‘pilot’ project in the Tyne catchment thereby promoting a partnership approach to river quality improvements.

Reporting to TRT’s Director, and the Project Board, the post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project. There is a significant community involvement and reporting requirement in the broad consultation across the catchment; financial monitoring and reporting systems to be established; culminating in the completion of an agreed, costed catchment plan within the time frame - which addresses the needs of the Water Framework Directive in the Tyne catchment, as well as the broader ‘health’ of the river.

The successful applicant will have: experience and expertise at public consultation/negotiation; an understanding of river catchment management; excellent project management skills with recent relevant experience of high profile projects; strong oral, written and presentational communication skills; proven track record in budget management and financial reporting; excellent IT skills, including GIS & web management.
