Salary:£24,646 - £27,849 per annum (subject to job evaluation)

FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS INITIALLY

Vulnerable to erosion and coastal flooding, the communities on the dynamic Suffolk coast face some of the biggest uncertainties with regard to their long term future of anywhere in the country. Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils working in partnership have a great reputation for innovation and delivery with both communities and partner organisations. We are looking for an exceptional individual to work within the Coastal Management Team to develop a sustainable approach in these vulnerable locations.
The successful candidate will lead the creation and implementation of coastal community adaptation plans (including the conclusion of the Waveney Pathfinder project) and in parallel develop a portfolio of innovative new funding streams to support future coastal projects.
Educated to degree level or possessing excellent relevant experience in community development / engagement, you will be able to think strategically and be creative in resolving complex process and funding challenges. Experience in procuring funding from multiple sources will be an advantage.
Based in Lowestoft but there will be a requirement to travel within the Suffolk area and to undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
