MRAG is a well established consultancy dedicated to sustainable management of natural resources. We specialise in aquatic resources and in particular fisheries. MRAG is seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated person to join our consultancy as senior consultant to work on marine and freshwater fisheries and resource management projects. Demonstrating a keen interest in aquatic conservation and resource management, you will have a relevant post graduate qualification and more than five to ten years experience. You will ideally have already worked in a consultancy environment at a senior level. It is anticipated that you will be familiar with the full project cycle from tendering to project implementation, and that you will be able to lead on projects at any stage of their development. Enthusiasm and the ability to apply yourself flexibly to a variety of tasks within a team is required, and excellence in writing English is essential as much of your work will involve the production of reports for clients and in preparing tenders. Ability to communicate in other languages will be an advantage. You will be a well organised person able to work to deadlines.

Typical skills we are looking for include:

  1. The ability to take responsibility for the full project cycle including an understanding of contractual and budgeting requirements, working autonomously where needed but with senior management oversight.
  2. Prior experience of new business development
  3. Experience of managing project teams.
  4. Excellent written, presentation and analytic skills producing high quality outputs.
  5. Wide experience geographically and on a range of projects relating to fisheries and aquatic resource management.
  6. Excellent communication skills both with colleagues (upwards and downwards) and the ability to liaise with clients and partners on projects.
  7. Ability to multitask, working on a number of projects often to tight deadlines.
