The Environment & Assets department are looking fill the position of Water Resources Modeller. Applications are sought from motivated individuals with knowledge of water resources planning, water supply systems, and with previous modelling experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• the development of the optimal water supply strategy of monthly source outputs and transfers including liaison with Operational staff to implement the strategy
• strategic outage planning involving co-ordination with WECS and Operations 8 maintenance and improvement of the Miser model that is used for short and long term planning
• drought position monitoring and modelling, including liaison with Operations and the Environment Agency
• technical analysis and support to the production of the Water Resources Management Plan and Business Plan
• environmental modelling for the wider Environment and Resources team – and in particular for the development of catchment strategies
• compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting and liaison with the Environment Agency

You will have:

• a degree in relevant environmental or scientific subject
• advanced IT skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ideally previous experience of modelling software packages
• ideally an understanding of the Wessex Water supply system.
• excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• high standards of attention to detail and organisational abilities

You must be able to demonstrate proof of skills gained and eligibility to work in the UK
