Cefas’ increasing role in delivering a range of diverse, integrated marine survey and data collection programmes has led to a need to recruit an experienced marine programme manager to support this expanding area.

Cefas is seeking a highly motivated team player with:

• proven management skills of complex projects with significant track record in planning, organising and delivering multi disciplinary scientific marine programmes in both near and offshore environments;
• a strong commercial and technical background;
• experience within Marine Regulatory frameworks; and *strong customer management experience in marine survey projects and associated environmental studies
• excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to lead teams of scientists and/or technicians

You will also be required to manage key customer interfaces as well as related stakeholders and be willing to represent Cefas on scientific workshops committees and conferences, as required. Being an experienced seafarer with the ability to travel and work flexibly is essential.

Your main duties will include:

• Building on your existing customer relationships to create new networks to heighten Cefas’ profile. You will be expected to instigate and undertake client visits to provide customer insight and nurture customer relationships as well as ensuring delivery to meet customer objectives.
• Carrying out Project Management responsibilities and ensuring that projects are delivered to agreed time-scales, budget and quality.
• Increasing Cefas’ influence primarily in UK through identifying and securing new customers and/or involvement in new consortia.
• Contributing generally to Cefas’ ability to flourish and participating in the management decision-making as required.
• Leading and supporting team(s) of scientists and/or technicians
