Environment and Consents Manager for offshore wind farm projects

Join us and become our new Environment and Consents Manager in the Environment and Licensing department.
Together with 13 committed and skilled colleagues, you will be responsible for ensuring that our post-construction environmental monitoring conditions are fulfilled in close cooperation with our operations team. Furthermore, you will ensure that all license conditions are fulfilled in the operational phase and that new license applications required within the operational phase are approved.
The department is responsible for delivering environmental impact assessments, consent applications, and manages environmental surveys, specialist consultants and environmental monitoring programmes. We also cooperate with regulators to ensure compliance with all conditions for our operational wind farms.
The department is part of Wind Power, a large and rapidly growing business unit with 1200 committed employees. You will be joining the world's largest developer of offshore wind energy, and currently, more than 300 engineers are working with several large-scale offshore wind projects in the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark and France.
You will be based at our London Belgravia office in the United Kingdom. However, you should expect some travelling to our other sites in the United Kingdom and to Denmark in connection with your work.
Areas of responsibility You will primarily manage, coordinate and execute planning applications and environmental monitoring tasks in connection with our operational wind farms.
In addition, you will ensure that we fulfil all conditions for licenses and consents in the operational phase and provide support for environmental monitoring during the pre-construction and construction phases.
Furthermore, your key duties will be to:
- handle communication with stakeholders and regulators to resolve environmental issues
- prepare budgets, work scopes, resource requirements and programmes for environmental surveys
- negotiate and make agreements on consent requirements and modifications with key regulators, consenting bodies and stakeholders
- manage environmental monitoring surveys, including scoping, tendering and commissioning
- manage a range of specialist consultants to produce environmental monitoring reports.
Your profile You will have a relevant engineering education at Bachelor or preferably Master or PhD level within environmental science, environmental management, marine science or similar.
You will have a good understanding of the offshore planning and licensing system, environmental impact assessments and conditional environmental monitoring in the United Kingdom.
Furthermore, you will hold a professional environmental qualification, such as IEMA or similar, and have specialist knowledge of some aspects, and preferably all aspects, relevant to offshore environmental monitoring, eg benthic ecology, fish ecology, physical processes and ornithology.
It will be an advantage if you have a project management qualification, such as Prince® or PMP. You will have good all-round knowledge and experience of managing environmental monitoring surveys and reporting, particularly for offshore wind farms.
