Three vacancies with Channel based INTERREG project VALMER at Plymouth University

The Centre for Marine and Coastal Policy Research (MarCoPol) at Plymouth University is recruiting research and management personnel for a new INTERREG funded project called VALMER. This €4.7 million project aims to develop new approaches to the management of marine resources in the Western Channel over the next 2.5 years. It is led by Plymouth University and has 11 partners in SW England and Brittany, France.
The project brings together research institutes, local authorities and stakeholders to explore the use of ecosystem service valuation for the management and planning of the Western Channel/Manche marine area. It is focussed on developing a framework for valuation of ecosystem services and applying this to a number of case study areas in France and the UK. We are currently seeking to recruit 3 posts.
NOTE the different closing dates
A Project Manager - to coordinate the activities of all the partners on behalf of Plymouth University, developing the work plan, monitoring implementation and facilitating the delivery of agreed outputs
Closing date 22nd August, interviews 3rd September 2012
A Deputy Project Manager – a 0.6 FTE post to manage the finances of the project and to support the project manager as appropriate
Closing date 22nd August; interviews 4th September 2012
A Research Fellow – to lead the Plymouth University contribution to project research, focussing on the application of ecosystem service valuation to improve marine planning and management
