The “Pearls in Peril – securing the future of the freshwater pearl mussel in Great Britain” PIP GB LIFE+ project is an exciting and new 4 year project with the ambitious aim of improving the conservation of the freshwater pearl mussel at key designated sites in Scotland, England and Wales. This post is responsible for the promotion and management of the £3.5 million EC LIFE+ PIP GB Project in line with the approved funding application, and the servicing and maintenance of the project partnership.

You must have Project Management experience and expertise – demonstrating ability to achieve agreed outputs and outcomes to agreed specifications, with a degree in ecology, environmental science or similar. You must also have the ability to set a clear direction for the project team and to inspire and encourage them to achieve agreed objectives with a proven ability to manage and support staff to meet targets and an ability to motivate and manage staff in dispersed locations. An ability to manage budgets, understand and use financial information to best achieve the projects objectives is a must. Communications skills with good computing skills are also a must. Finally, you must have experience of working in partnership with other funding partners, agencies and land managers to achieve natural heritage outcomes
