Geoscience Department Manager
EGS is an independent leading international group of marine survey companies which has offices in Asia, the Middle East, Australia, the USA and the United Kingdom.
The EGS Group provides clients with a wide range of marine survey services working on diverse projects; projects within the intertidal and coastal zone, in offshore areas, and many which encompass survey work from the shore out to full ocean depth. We work mainly in the Offshore Renewable Energy, Telecommunication, Oil & Gas, and Marine Civil Engineering sectors.
EGS (International) Limited (UK) is looking for a dynamic, professional and highly motivated Geophysicist to manage its expanding Geoscience Department.
Applicants must hold a Geology or Geophysics degree (preferably at Master or PhD level) with relevant practical experience, including supervision of technical staff, in a range of marine geophysical survey projects. Sound technical knowledge and good experience in interpretation and reporting of different types of geophysical datasets is essential.
The successful applicant will be based at our office in Bordon, Hampshire (United Kingdom) and will be working on a wide range of projects in the UK and overseas leading the collection, processing, interpretation and reporting of geophysical data.
The Geoscience Department Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day activities of the department in order to maintain the required through-put of work and facilitate the development of staff and resources. He/she will ensure that all the activities are carried out to the highest quality standards while maintaining an efficient and safe working environment.
Responsibilities to include:
- Management of personnel to best effect, both for site work and office based data processing
- Supervision and training of junior personnel
- Develop strategies to increase workflow by improving efficiency and working practices
- Expand technical and human resources of Geo department
- Party Chief on specific projects
- Project Management
- Reporting supervision
- Support in Business Development and tender preparation
